Licensing Deal, Blueprint, and More

Wow, it’s been so long since I’ve updated you guys on what’s been going on with me. Earlier this year I made the decision to step back a bit from the blog. Things were super busy with work and preparing for the (fast-approaching) trade show. Recently some things have changed in my life and will now make it much easier to keep this site up-to-date. I’m looking forward to being able to spend some more time on here. 🙂 Anyways, here’s a quick look at what’s been going on for the past couple of months.

My First Licensing Deal!! (yay!)

Shortly after starting the 100 Day Challenge I received a message about some of the characters I had been designing. They asked if I could turn those into a pattern for gift wrap. Of course, I said yes, after I jumped up and down out of excitement a few times. It’s for a new company in the UK, Instawrap. Go check them out because their product is really cool! The gift wrap is self-adhering so there’s no need for tape…making everyone’s life way easier.

Licensing Deal, Blueprint, and more

Less than weeks until I’m exhibiting at my first trade show…OMG. I’ve been working so hard to make this happen and it’s getting so close. Everything has been ordered, and everything but my blurb book has arrived.

Blueprint is held in NYC. There are two shows, I’ll be with my sister in show 2. We’ve joined forces under the name Prep + Prim. We’ve even had a feature on Print & Pattern.

I’m taking a lot of pictures as I go and will have a blog on preparing for trade shows. Look out for that next month.

Over the last few months, I’ve been thinking a lot about vlogging. I think vlogging is a wonderful thing and it’s a great way to share with you all of my experiences. You’ve probably already noticed that I publish design tutorials on youtube. In the near future, maybe even within the next week, I want to start posting vlogs with a behind-the-scenes look at life as a surface pattern designer, traveler, etc. Basically, a way to share with you all of my passions, ones that I think most of us designers share. Keep a lookout for the update!

Wraptious Competition

I’ve entered the biannual Wraptious Competition. Any votes (facebook likes) would be greatly appreciated!

Facebook Page

The East Coast Charm facebook page is finally up. I’ll share all new youtube videos, products, news, etc. on the page. Make sure to go and like it! 🙂

Moving Forward

With more time to devote to ECC, there will be more content coming to the website. I’m finally going to finish the Ireland and U.K. travel posts. There’s also going to be more free goodies for you to download.

Thanks for all of your support over the last year!
